I'm a/b to try moving the woofer back in a moment and will keep you all posted but it's food for thought. Maybe the cell phone could be the interference in some way? I don't really know much about this kind of thing, but it's odd that the subwoofer was not making the noise before when it was in it's original location before I brought the cell phone home. It's been sitting on the desk everytime I've used the speakers cut on. I could nearly SWEAR that I brought the new cell phone back the same night that the speakers started acting screwy and I've never cut it off any of the nights that I've had the speakers. It really seems like one of 2 things corrected my problem.ΔΆ: I was talking to a friend of mine and I recently just got a cell phone (My first I know I'm a lamer!) and I asked him what might be interfering with the speakers and he said it may be my new cell phone which is something I haven't thought of. Anyone else have this combo and not this problem? Any suggestions to how I can fix the problem would be greatly appreciated ASAP so that I can do what I need to do as far as exchanging etc.
It's actually quite loud and it even makes the noises while other sounds are playing. What the hell could be causing this as it is driving me up a wall. Set them up and BAM, still popping sounds. I exchanged the speakers on a fresh set and brought them home. I decided to RETURN the speakers to Best Buy because I figured that the popping was a malfunction dealing with the gain or possibly the amplifier of the speaker set. The computer wasn't even on, and I had no wires even running to the soundcard. Please note that at this point the speakers were in NO way connected to the Audigy 2 card. It seems as if I cut the speakers up louder the popping is somewhat shallower and if I cut them to a lower volume the popping seems louder. I fired on the speaker set and put my ear to the woofer and I still hear the sound. Finally I did this: I unhooked the speakers from the computer COMPLETELY and removed all speaker connections from the subwoofer. I didn't know what to do so I pondered it for a few days wondering whether it could be Audio drivers, or maybe a bad connection or a hardware malfunction. Then I started noticing that the speakers make a series of like 10 pops in rapid fire every few seconds. I hooked up the speakers and the new soundcard and everything seemed fine for about a week or so. My girlfriend bought me a set of Creative Inspire 6600 (6.1) speakers for Christmas and I used some Christmas money to buy an Audigy 2 soundcard to accompany them.
